Hands On Learning (#206)

Hands On Learning (#206)

It is my desire to increase the number of manipulatives in the pre-school and kindergarten classroom which is being relocated to the rear classroom in our building.

As a teacher and administrator with over 25 years of experience, I have learned there is no substitute for activities that require children to use their hands along with their minds. Research at Harvard in “Project Zero” by Dr. Ben Mardell, is consistent with this idea.

It is my desire to improve the learning centers in my room with more manipulatives in order to involve my students in more hands-on learning activities in vocabulary, reading, and mathematics.

I would like my students to learn with as many parts of their brains as possible so that they will more readily obtain the knowledge they need.
