“Words cannot fully express my gratitude for your wonderful generosity. Over the last four years, I was given the most wonderful opportunities to grow academically, emotionally, and spiritually at Walther High School. Without the CLEF scholarship, I would not have been able to see success in every element of my life. Through the years, my family and I have had peace of mind because of the CLEF scholarship. I was able to focus on my future without having to worry about academic finances. Thank you so much for enabling me to succeed.”
Making Private School Affordable
Cost should never be an obstacle for families who want to make quality Christian education a reality for their child. CLEF provides more than half a million dollars to Lutheran schools each year for private school scholarships. Although scholarship opportunities vary by school, all CLEF schools are willing to work with families to make tuition affordable. Please contact schools directly for more information.
Funding Private High School Scholarships
CLEF High School Scholars is a private school scholarship that covers fifty percent of tuition for sixteen highly motivated high school students (four per grade) at Walther Christian Academy. Applicants must have attended a CLEF-supported elementary school. If you know an all-star eighth grader at a CLEF school, please encourage them to apply!
Providing Access to Student Scholarships through Empower Illinois
The Illinois General Assembly recently passed the Invest in Kids Act, which provides a state tax credit to donors who support private school scholarships. This will make additional school scholarships available to support eligible students to attend private parochial schools. CLEF has partnered with the scholarship granting organization Empower Illinois to administer the scholarship funds donated through the Invest in Kids Act. Parents interested in applying for SGO scholarships may do so through Empower Illinois or one of several other SGOs in Illinois.
