Janet Klotz
Executive Director – janetklotz@clefchicago.org
A product of Lutheran schools, including Concordia University Chicago, Janet Klotz has more than 25 years of experience in leadership and volunteer positions for many nonprofit organizations. As founder of All Things Not-For-Profit, an events and public relations company, she has organized successful fundraising events for organizations such as Adventist Hinsdale Hospital, Hinsdale Hospital Foundation, Condell Hospital, Robert Crown Center, Rotary Club of Hinsdale, and Zion Early Education Center. Janet joined the CLEF Board of Directors in 2011 and was named Executive Director in 2013.
Janet has served as Vice President of Hinsdale Rotary Club, Chair of Zion Lutheran Hinsdale’s Early Childhood Education Center, member of the Clarendon Hills Village Renovation Board and Clarendon Hills Library Board, Chair of Clarendon Hills Infant Welfare Benefit, Chair of Hinsdale Junior Women’s Club, and Fundraiser and Events Coordinator for the Hinsdale Community House. Her creative and people skills serve her well in her multifaceted role as CLEF’s Executive Director.
Dr. Kevin BrockbergÂ

A well-respected speaker, an adjunct college professor, and the author of numerous articles, Dr. Brockberg has served schools in several states as well as in Hong Kong. Most recently serving as the Superintendent of Schools for the LCMS Indiana District, Dr. Brockberg brings with him a wealth of experience in school administration both in public and non-public schools, nationally and internationally. In recent years, he’s been a valued CLEF partner, joining CLEF’s Medallion Badge Program assessment teams and other projects.
Michael Cleavenger

With more than 25 years’ experience in the nonprofit administration and fundraising business, Michael Cleavenger has secured more than $250 million for major gifts, capital, and numerous endowment campaigns. He has contributed to campaigns and management at Ragdale Foundation, The Shirly Ryan Ability Lab, Quinlan Business School at Loyola University Chicago, La Rabida Children’s Hospital, Victory Gardens Theatre, and The Chicago History Museum. Michael currently serves on the board of directors of St. Bernard’s Hospital, the Children’s Care Foundation, and The Happy Childhood Foundation.
Amanda Hays

A Chicago-native and a product of both Lutheran/Christian schools, Amanda Hays brings nearly a decade of non-profit communications and marketing experience to this position. Before assuming the role of the Admissions & Marketing Manager at CLEF, Amanda served at two CLEF-supported schools, St. John’s Lutheran School and Pilgrim Lutheran School, for three years as the Marketing and Admissions Coordinator. In her current role, she leads a team of nine marketing professionals across CLEF schools, and assists them in their efforts to increase enrollment in Chicago Lutheran Schools.
