I’m Jealous Of The Other Smart Boards (#504)

I would love to be able to purchase a Smart Board and projector for my classroom to replace the outdated projector that I have currently. I try to demonstrate to the students various things with the projector, such as using proper MLA format, how to properly research, etc., but feel it would be much more effective if I could make it interactive for them. The projector is also older, so the picture is not as clear as it could be and at times it is difficult for the students to see what I need them to see. I use Google Classroom in every single one of my classes, pretty heavily at that, and I know if I was able to combine the use of both in my classroom there would really be no limit to what I could get done! Also, in the desire to be truly honest, I am one of the few classroom teachers at Walther that do not have a smartboard. And of those few that do not have a smartboard, I am the only one that has a huge desire for one. I know that since I have a projector in my room, it was not made a priority to put a smartboard in when we were getting them. In addition to that, I know funding for it can be tough, but I still request one almost every year given the option of what we would like to change in our rooms. Below that you will see that I got two different quotes for two different brands. I have included both quotes as well as adding them to the list.

I love the fact that Walther is now 1:1 with technology! Using Google Classroom and the various apps that come with it have really changed the way that I teach. It has added ease to students missing class for whatever reason and has saved on a lot of paper! The ability to better demonstrate various tasks on the smartboard and have the students come and actually engage in the lesson with the smartboard will help make my class more interactive! It will also allow me to use all the available technology we have and use it to its fullest. I believe the students would enjoy being able to actually use the smartboard themselves and will better understand how to effectively use technology in the classroom.
