“I have been involved with Holy Family for almost 13 years. As an after-school volunteer, I am privileged to teach students from K-8. I developed a curriculum, “Art and Spirituality,” to introduce the kids to music using Orff instruments and techniques. I work with talented kids but often many are scared and believe they cannot do art. But inevitably we all come to know that making art is for everyone. In fact, students donate their creations at the fall and spring fundraising events. The silent auction of their work offers guests an opportunity to personally connect with students. Their completed artwork is beyond outstanding. The success of my program is not due to my abilities alone. It is through the well trained and committed staff the passionate teachers and the high standards coupled with love that pours out from Cheryl Collins, Principal. Trust service abundance compassion and guidance are the hallmarks I witness and feel at Holy Family. I am privileged to say that honestly, you will not find another school like this anywhere else in Chicago.”
