Help Us Empower Schools by Supporting Giving Challenge

News from Our Executive Director

Our Schools Need Your Help

Dear Friends,

Our present and future mission remains the same at CLEF, to empower our schools to deliver innovative, quality education in a Christian environment. This is accomplished through the dedication and actions of our leaders, teachers, principals and faithful supporters.

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. ―Romans 8:38-39 (NKJV) One way we show our faith in the certainty of Jesus’ love is by demonstrating His love and generosity to our fellow humans.

Our schools have done an exceptional job in making the transition to remote learning. They have constructed virtual classrooms, provided story times, videos, and learning exercises. Worship and chapel services and prayer time are all regularly offered via social media.

Our teachers are learning remotely, too! From April 20-May 1, teachers from across our 22 partner schools have joined us virtually at the Remote Innovative Teacher Institute. Online classes include everything from setting up remote writing workshops to student internet safety. Plus, we’ve assembled a full-line up of guest educators and presenters in addition to our CLEF staff who are sharing best practices for remote learning in reading, writing, math, STEM as well as social-emotional learning and health and wellness.

All our schools are reaching out to their communities with messages of hope, compassion and care during these difficult times. Unfortunately, many school communities are facing difficult challenges:

  • > Many parents have reduced work hours and are struggling to make ends meet
  • > Tuition payments have slowed but teacher salaries and other costs remain
  • > Schools have extra costs related to safety and e-learning resources
  • > Churches are closed and offerings that typically support the school budget are down

While our major spring fundraiser has been postponed, the immediate needs of our schools, students and families remain a constant and ongoing struggle for the foreseeable future.

Recognizing the need for urgent support, our board and key donors have created a giving challenge and will match your gift dollar-for-dollar up to $100,000. We are so grateful for their generosity!

Please take a moment to look into your heart, and your generosity today will make a difference for years to come.

Joining you in faithful service,

Janet Klotz
