DESCRIPTION:  \n“Starting Strong: Evidence-Based Early Literacy Practices” Monthly Book Club (PK-2nd Grade)\nFirst Thursdays\, 5-6 p.m.\nPresenter: CLEF Instructional Coach\, Maggie Zampini \nRegistration deadline was 10/30. \nIf you teach\, assist\, or coach Pre-K – 2nd Grade\, these sessions are a must-attend! (And you receive a free book to bulk up your literacy library!) Throughout these monthly meetings\, Maggie Zampini will be leading a group through the text\, “Starting Strong Evidence-Based Early Literacy Practices” by K. Blamey and K. Beauchat. \nWith chapters on oral language\, vocabulary\, phonological awareness\, word recognition\, comprehension\, and writing skills\, this comprehensive book explains each skill and provides research-based strategies for targeting each area. Supported by evidence-based research and aligned to key tenets of the Common Core\, the book also includes classroom-tested activities and children’s literature suggestions for each area of literacy. \nThis event is only open to CLEF teachers.  \nOnce registered\, participants will receive a confirmation email with the Zoom link to join the session.
